As we patiently waited for spring to arrive I was inspired to design a shoot that embodied the season ahead. There is something so magical about spring, and I wanted to capture that brief moment where the ground is freshly thawed and new life is springing up!

I’ll be honest, inspiration many of these editorials comes to me while I lay awake in bed at night. Late one night I was hit with a “Spring Awakening” theme and through the work of some seriously skilled and talented local vendors, this amazing editorial was born!

The colours were chosen intentionally with shades of icy blue representing the cold and frozen ground, with bright pops of colour representing new life and a fresh season ahead. We wanted the shoot to have a modern and fresh vibe, and the Art Gallery of Hamilton provided the perfect backdrop. If you are looking for the perfect venue, the Art Gallery of Hamilton is an amazing space to hold a wedding! It’s unique, spacious and half windows – it’s a gem, I tell ya!

It’s no big surprise that I am a lover of bright, bold and beautiful colour. If you ask me – the more the merrier! It is my hope that these creative shoots will inspire couples to get creative with their colour palettes. You can chose bold colours and still get a beautiful and elegant result!

The sweet couple in this photoshoot is actually one of my real life planning couples, and they are totally as sweet as they look! The two met while studying at The University of Waterloo when Olivia noticed that Rhys has a service dog puppy-in-training rocking a “Ask If You Can Pet Me” vest. Well played, Rhys. Well played! The sweet pup pictured below is Velvet, and she will be going on to (hopefully!) be a service dog.
